When her “lander” community gets raided, she is dragged back into the high-profile human breeding program she had fled. This time, she’s pregnant. And to C.E.O. Aeon Quade, the fetus is worth more than her life.
She is taken to the Ascendant Center, where Aeon and the rest of the ruling class can “upload” their minds into a digital utopia called Xenodrome. Xandra must fight back for body autonomy and a future beyond survival mode and suffering.
As a botched cover-up presents the opportunity for her to infiltrate Xenodrome, she realizes perhaps she should have read the fine print before becoming an Ascendant herself.
